After a disappointing loss in Port Elgin Valentines Eve (Fri) 6-4. Thunder bounce back with big win Saturday night.
The Winter hawks are a team with no quit in them. They proved the point Friday night with a 6-4 Victory. The win brought the series to 2-1 in favor of the Thunder. Sat night the hard charging Saugeen squad kept the Thunder on their toes for a big part of the game, leading 2-1 heading into the 3rd. The Thunder found another gear midway through the 3rd and Port Elgin native dman Eric Langridge tied the game at 2 on a beauty feed from Corbin Bean. Jeff Flagler for the Hawks and Tommy Lee made some unreal saves to keep the game tied at 2 forcing OT.
5 minutes into the 1st OT period The Thunder forced the Hawks hard down low on the cycle and Corbin Bean was able to get open and fire a rocket over Jeff Flagler's shoulder for the game 4 win! The Thunder have a chance Fri night to finish the series in game 5 at 8:30pm in Port Elgin. Game 6 is back in Tillsonburg 7:30pm (if nec), game 7 (if nec) Sun 4pm in Port Elgin.
